Diwali

Another year, the festival of lights begins. It is a time of happiness, family love, and deafening firecrackers.
The lights in the houses and outside on the streets in this time of the year are simply a treat for the eye. The crackers are simply a medical condition in the making.
Would Ram really want us to induce deafness into our future generation? Who knows?
Yes this isn't the happiest of posts, but the point is to make you think. Is there really any significance in the crackers? Diwali is meant for the lights, for the family and loved ones. To share treats and exchange gifts brought out of love, not obligation. Diwali is yet another commercial festival in India, just like Ganpati, Holi and Christmas.
The essence of it is truly lost. But then again, what used to be a way of life in the ancient times is now simply a matter of tradition. Tradition not followed out of love or excitement, but out of the sense of duty.
Someone should really try and celebrate a peaceful Diwali (and all other festivals) keeping in mind the original idea behind such events. After all, we are the generation of globalisation. Who knows what more waits for us in the future?

The Point of Life

Whether it be a fly thee kill, or be it a monster slain by thy righteous hand,
Death in all it's glory is still a sorrowful thing.
The perception is all that matters.
Who knows, the monster might be the avatar of the very gods thee worship.
God plays a game in the queerest of ways, ways we may never understand,
As for that sword you lift, it may be the bane of those you love the most.
Life is a strange phenomenon.
It is the soul that matters.
The ones that tread in light sweat as the sun tires them,
And the moon sends chills down the nighttime traveller,
Filling the mind with horrors with questionable existence.
Yet, we all tread on.
Maybe that is the point of life, to find a point in this spherical object,
Cyclic in nature and spirit, with nothing to lose or gain,
Except that we believe we are attached to.

60 seconds of Inspiration

So I Stumbled Upon this one video. And it made me think. I have always been of the opinion that one should always follow your dreams. Not the cheesy way that looks easy in films, but the hard fucked up way that only those who have experienced will understand. I am at the start of a point in life where my hardships are just beginning and motivations like this video really help keeping me focused on the goal. This is to all those like me who have set out on the road less travelled by, instead of going the corporate way.

Cheesy Words, or Motivation? You decide....

One thing I learned in the last few days is that I fucking love writing. I'd die before I give up. I've risked my future to pursue my writing, and I hope that it would work out well.
Sometimes, treading in darkness can show you things in a much different perspective. I'm experiencing that at a very personal level. I see everyone going with the crowd while they laugh, mock and look down upon me for my decisions. People will never understand.
I'd die before I prove them right. And I know I'm not the only one here. There are many whose dreams are shattered by the critics. I say fuck them all.
Of course, it's easier said than done. Many people quit, but how many are actually working towards it? Before you take any rash decision, understand that once taken a step forward, it'll be a million times harder just to undo that. Tread wisely.

Forlorn

Is there nothing for me
To see here on my journey
Is the world so blinded
By the norms of our humanity?

The darkness seems to scare me
And the light is full of clarity
Yet we hide within the shadows
Of our own society

The lamps that guide us will fade
And extinguish with time today
As we all move amongst the lot
To pave the way for yesterday

The waves of energy holy
That phases with melancholy
Will one day be there no more
Leaving us in our insanity

Prevailing will be anarchy
Full of people such as you and me
With weapons of our conscience

We will strive to save humanity

Apocalypse Approaching....

About two weeks have passed.
Pressure and positivity seem to be in the lacking.
Oscillatory motions have begun to recede.
Convulsions and copulations are nothing but sins.
Anarchy is in the making.
Liars and cheaters rule our world.
Yes, it is the sad truth.
Probably this is the worst post yet.
Senseless, yet maybe something worthy.
End is near.

And yet we know it not.
People are dying.
Perfumed radiation.
Reactions are lethargic.
Obviousness is not that obvious.
And Swag meets Yolo for a date.
Common Sense is the most uncommon.
Hungover nights and memory imploding.
Improper life.
Never to be understood.
Good-bye fucktards.

Mistakes

Why is it that we all make mistakes? Why is it, that we never want to learn from the mistakes of others? Is it so important for each and every one of us to make the same mistakes by ourselves and learn the lesson that someone so dear to us was trying to teach us?
Is it our ego that marks upon our decisions or is it our emotions? What controls them more? The Ego , the Emotions, or is it something more?
Why is it that every time we mug up for an exam, we remember most? Why is it that we get anxious over numbers that are imaginary and devised only to prove our worth, but mean nothing?
It is all a pretentious farce!
We live in a world that teaches us to live life in a particular way. There are rights and there are wrongs. No subjective viewpoints. That is the way the world functions. It is not by observation, but by being told. Then why, do we not listen to the more important things in life?
A blogpost is no place to find enlightenment, but you never know, what may strike you as inspirational. If I can find inspiration in a dead puppy, you can find it in a candy wrapper. Who is to say?
And what if we make mistakes? Are we wasting our time? Yes, probably! When we know it's a mistake and yet we pursue it. That is utter bullshit. Learn to live and not waste time. And learn the difference between recreation, leisure and wasting time too. You may be making a mistake in choosing the wrong option.

Strangulation

Strangulation. The tepid ropes of the vile education system curled themselves against the Adam’s apple of his throat as he lay writhing in pain from the fever that had engulfed his numb body. He was lying there, sweating profusely, crying silently over the spiritual disaster that was his life. For a long time the potholes of the princely societal acceptance had haunted his smooth ride in life, making every possible bump as painful as can be. Hell cannot even hope to be so sadistic. And his state at the moment was hell. Hell to the truest form.
The ceiling fan moved silently, like a ninja slicing the air around with its assassin’s blade. The air grew old and aged as time passed in the night. Beads of sweat swarmed his face, his body, his hairy legs. The bed seemed too small to hold in his big dilemma. The sheets too tiny to keep him warm to the fullest. He had covered his face, breathing the carbon that he had exhaled only a few moments back. The darkness of the night had only but profoundly bled out dry, only to leave behind dark bruises in the atmosphere that was his room. The same room he lived, no, the same room he existed. Living is a term debatable for this sort of life. An education that has no meaning, pursuing a piece of paper that holds your dignity and walk shamefully if it cannot be achieved. This is the narrow-minded lifestyle that they all lived. His peers. His perpetrators. His parents.
He fell asleep talking to his girlfriend, knowing that he was tired. But the fever that dawned upon him knew not its limits. It wasn’t just a physical ailment; it was much more. The scars and bruises were not left on the outer shell of the human body that was his self, but deeper inside. The scars lay on his mind. The bruises painted his soul. The stink and rot of a lustful craving for self destruction had been clinging onto his back forcefully kept there for a better status in society.
But what would these social bastards know of the pains and penance a little man like him would pay for that unchecked and adulterated dignity? What would his friends know of the agony of anointing ink in the wasteful use of thoughtless words? What would the very non-existent God do if challenged about the pains? There were no answers to these rhetoric doubts that flooded him as he lay, writhing in pain.
Was it the food that sickened him? The tiring day in a disgusting place full of filthy, despicable and tasteless fools who lived only because they had a life, exhausted his living strength? What was it that troubled his soul to the extent that the physical attributes attached had to suffer like Icarus who tried only to fly. It was this. The troubles and times of past that haunted him. Mistakes that had trodden him down before, that were in effect again, at a different pace, at a different magnitude, but mistakes nonetheless.

A Thought on Life

I was once told, that no matter what you do in life, you must always be the best at it. Even if you end up being a mere gardener, be that gardener that people would pay craploads to hire. And they would not hire you, they would request for your services. That is the kind of person you should be, that is the kind of professional you should be!If you cook, be that cook who can overcharge for his skills and never be questioned. Be that filmmaker whose expertise can never be questioned and whose work can seldom be criticised. Be that person who works not for other people, but whom other people wish to work with.Professions are only a way to spend your time, earn your money and waste your life in. But if you do something you love, something that doesn't feel like a chore and something that can give you and your loved ones enough time and resources to live a happy life, that is all you need. At least, that is all that I believe you need.Who needs a sports bike or a super car? You can walk, spread less pollution, and live healthy. Who needs a housekeeper? Learn to wash your own dishes. If you weren't brought up in that kind of environment, make sure you make that kind of environment when you come in control of your life. After all, your life is under your control. Your influence is what will shape the lives of the people around you.To be happy, choose what you must, but choose wisely.

A Reflection of Perception

I bet you all have read something in your lives. A card, a TV newsflash, a newspaper and of course, a book. We read this magnificent and complex combination of 26 letters that bring out the most beautiful of emotions and vivid pictures in our minds. A simple 26 letters that are placed in several sequences that mean something to someone, yet differ in their effect.
What is beautiful to some is pain for another What is trash to one is another's treasure. What is a murder for one is redemption for another. Perceptions guide us everywhere. Through the Light that burns us and through the Darkness thats haunts us, it is our perception that makes us who we are.
Life is but a Reflection of our Perception.
And this reflection of life in the beauty if Art is what makes Art soulful. If you must refute that art is made without soul, then there is nothing wrong, for that is the way your soul perceives the reflections of every other soul that passes by.
Simply put, a lovely picture is only lovely if you believe it to be lovely. For others, it may be but a pathetic explosion of colours.
Reflect upon what you Perceive and watch how your Perceptions have Refections on your Soul.

Dead Puppy

So, this is something that I really encountered in my life. I wrote this quite some time back. It isn't the most conventional thing that can invoke a creative piece of of anyone but hey, I'm not like everyone else. I don't know if you'll will get the essence of the poem but when you really think about it, maybe you'll reach closer to what I felt when I saw this cruel scene...

Today I saw a puppy die
I saw its dead body
I don't know why
I saw it

I saw it dead
Flies buzzing
It was dead and stinking
I don't know why

I saw a dead puppy
So young
Barely a month old
I saw it dead

I don't know why
I saw it dead
A puppy lay dead
And then I understood why
Life is meaningless

Utilitarian Nugatory

Ever contemplated over the convulsions of a contorting whale that swims in the simmering serenity of the violent waves of an element so beyond the existential understandings of human psyche that the planetary alignments alter the affections and afflictions while vaporising the valiant viles of our repulsive refractory residual senses that are but a part of what we call the whole. Sensibility is but the legitimate tag stamped upon what is understood by the most shallow parts of a deathly abyss that is the mind of human vivisect. To understand the very psychological patterns that we as humans seem to exhibit, try and understand that whale that was once mentioned not so long ago but a few lines prior and you will be mesmerized how senselessly stupendous this all seems, yet your elitist ego will want to find meaning in this piece so bizarre yet so cluttered with random abrasions of thoughts and ideas that may or may not hold a riddle of the eternal truth that we all wish to find but never know where to start looking from.

Existential

What is it that keeps us going on?
Is it the curiosity of the next moment?
Or is it the reward we have been dying to achieve?
The springing happiness or the end of sorrow,
The lively smiles of long dead ones!
What is it that makes us live in this orderly chaos?
What is it that we tread on in light when our goals lie in darkness?
Why must we live on terms of other people?
When we are the only ones who know ourselves the most!
What is it that is running in your head right now?
Is it about the Life we live?
Or is it about the Death we desire?

This Goddamned Heat!!!

So the heat seems to be rising here. As I walked in the burning daylight of noon today, with sweat sliding down my ass crack, there seemed to be so many people around that probably were going through the same, but seemed to be perfectly okay with the heat.
Why is this heat burning our skin? Global warming? Or do you think God was freezing up there and probably raised the temperature cause he felt like it?
Either ways its not the guy in the sky who is affected, it's us. It is our skin that develops cancer and our life that melts here. The profuse sweating in my boxers only indicate that the world is fucked. But then again, who knows? We might be just a few years away from the next Ice Age.
Now, if we do face an Ice Age, do you believe that God will ever change thermostat of his heavenly bachelor pad?(I have never heard of God being married. Of course some Hindu Gods are married but there are too many of them and not all the readers will understand the context.)
Speaking of Hinduism, there is a shlok in the Bhagvat Gita:

To set it all into basics, God, Lord Vishnu (the protector) always works to bring the world into balance. All his Avatars, have been to set things right, to undo the wrong and restore Dharma. So is this what we are facing now?
To restore the Dharma, we must we face the terrible heat?

Well, simply said, 'As you sow, so shall you reap.' We have raped Mother Earth of her resources and now we face Global Warming as a result of the chaos that is but our own creation.
Now, the question is, will we wipe that sweaty ass of ours and go back to not giving a fuck?
Or will we try to do something. I don't know what I will be doing. I made a blogpost (a pretty long one at that.).
What will you do?

Indulgences

There is one thing that we all have in our lives, one thing that we all suffer through. Indulgence. We all indulge in various addictions, big or small, that cause us harm irreparable. Why must we do so? Is the high really that great? Is it worth the million tears that we will never see? Is it worth the suffering we impose on ourselves and our loving spectators who try so firmly to convince us to give up, but fail terribly?
To be true, we are masters of our own lives and we have the right to choose what is good and what is bad for us. But what can it be in that little cancer-stick that attracts such a big crowd of passive suicidal maniacs? Well, I cannot say for I have personally stayed away from these cravings, as much as I can. I won't lie that I haven't given in to these, but yes, I have managed to keep true to myself, not letting them take a hold of me. I have seen many and more fall prey to them. But there are those who are strong enough to refuse the prolonged torture they might have inflicted upon themselves.
Of course, this issue will keep going on for ages and eons to come. It is for you to decide what is right and what is wrong. Be it a mild sugar addiction to a heavy crack craving, it all needs to be kept under check. But this again, is subject to individual perception. Do what the right thing is, or fall deep into the lustful pit of torments. It is up to you. For yourself, and for anyone who you love.

The Perspicacity of the Night

There is something ghastly about the time that flies in the dead of night. It is during the hour of the ghosts that life can take simple turns of mental and spiritual experiences. As you lay writhing in the numbness of inexplicable pain, you wake up sweating from the chilly horrors that populate your dreams only to be left wondering about the polarity of the situation. Is it the light of souls that made your life flash through the sleeping pupils of dreams? Or was it the wailing of an undead spirit, screaming to be heard? Is any of this mental state, psychological? Or just another episode of the night, exaggerated by nothing but your mind and subconscious dreams pioneering a new chapter in the coming of a new day, in the dying of an old body and the birth of another microcosm of unexplained lifeless celestial kingdoms governed by that which cannot be comprehended by our toddler like minds? Whatever it be, it is your experience and for you to unravel.

That Pungent Image

Some things just happen to go by
Detailed they be but yet miss our eye

You see, some times, beauty lies in the weirdest of places. I was in the Khar Danna slums last week, working on a project, simultaneously trying to finish my college photography project. I’m no pro at working with photography, my best lies in my mind and my typing machine. However, this one picture is something that has caught me for a while. How detailed can a slum setting be? How colourful. Yet, to us, our perception limits us only to see the dullness and poverty. Of course that is what you will see emphasised here too, but take your mind off the conventional thinking and try to see the intricate beauty that this lovely, pungent image holds.

Chills...

It is impossible to ignore the unsure chill that floats around us so erratic and so confused. The days begin with a shivering sleepy alarm clock and it ends with cozy blankets covering us up. But what of the day? Well, sweaty as a newly defiled maiden writhing in pain from the sin so wrongly tagged. Is there an explainable reason as to why we are poised in ignorance, not caring about what is happening? Is it so disastrous to even consider anything that is being taught in the lecture room while we all carry out our own blatant conversations. It seems to me that the Dark Days are truly dipping their toes in the water that is our Lives for this growing chill, or declining as you may see it, is but a pleasant ecstasy for the decaying fact that we all are cold hearted and cold blooded fuckers living for the sake of it, not for the true treatise. If you don't believe it, ask yourself, when was the last time you saw the sun in the foggy mornings of winter's ghastly landscape?

Celebrating Existence

Just my last post, I mentioned the first anniversary of my film ‘Désespoir’. Today, I’ll mention something even more intimate. Today I finish 20 revolutions around our lovely sun.
Well, this might seem like a ‘Hey its my Birthday. Give me attention!’ post, but its not. I had some thoughts that churned in my mind. As the day passed by, with the societal rituals being followed, candle, cake and gifts being happily consumed, I began to think of a more deeper issue. I had finished almost 20-25% of my life, assuming that I would live to be at least 80 in this disease trodden world. With that, I understood, I entered a new phase of life. One where things will, and I too should, get serious. A new Phase. A new Chapter.
So many have been born on this very same day. So many have died as well. But I spend the day in lovely companionship with my friends, not caring about any of that. And no matter how dark and black I may be on the inside, I cannot but help it. I love them all. They got me the best gifts ever. A tiny army knife, many books, and loads of other things. To be true, these material gains I received have terribly overwhelmed me with a great wave of happiness and joy.
And as these thoughts cross my mind, I believe that the coming year is when I will, and I definitely should, begin my steps, from walking to sprinting, towards my goal. This is the second time I have done the same type of post. But this one is mainly to thank my friends for their blessing good wishes and to pay gratitude to the Gods that may or may not exist, for all the good and bad that has happened. For I am what I am because of everything in the past.Today, I truly do celebrate. Not the anniversary of my birth, but I celebrate my very existence.

The Past be a Prequel,
The Present its Sequel,
While the Future, an announced production,
That has yet to be planned.
It cannot exist without the Present’s presence,
Which in turn is nothing without the Past’s existence.
Life is a cyclic force, living with rules of causality.
It is our Dharma, it is our Karma,
To be what we must,
And to seek what we are,
for better or worse,
Through the Darkness, that envelopes us,
To the light we all seek,
But you mustn’t look for light,
Instead, embrace the darkness,
For Life is exactly that,
A meaningless concept,
That is full of Abstracts.
